If you eat a drumstick when you are seven...

If you eat a drumstick when you are seven, all your teeth get sucked out
Don't they? (A dentist told me!).. we visited Anstruther today, Gabi dropped off a parcel of Small Stories clobber to "the Lovely Pigeon" pop up craft shop, she's their best seller!... hooray! We bought some lovely things too... (Tommy Perman Postcards for one... he did say he'd send a pack...bah humbug to you sir! I "FOUND" them myself. thuurrrp!).
Anyway, after our wee shopping spree, we had some fish n chips, then a visit to a sweetie shop (how healthy!) Bubalishous! Melody Pops! oh! Drumsticks! we're all kids today.

Can I have some

Can I have some soup please?
"free beer!"... on a -3c night... dear digital cool dudes, c'mon! it's A'Deen in december! I loved the Mighty Meet Up tonight, but I fear I am too old now... there was a time when "free beer" would have me rolling in the snow in a balaclava, miners lamp and snowboarding goggles... but I just want some hot soup now.. boo hoo.

For anyone "digital" and interested in web tech / dev / design... you really should attend the next MightyMeetup. It's free, and you do get more than beer... knowledge! (no soup).

If you leave money lying around...

If you leave money lying around, the tooth fairy comes along and takes it away
Poppy keeps spilling out her "old money" piggy bank, and leaving all the money lying out... I got fed up with it the other day, so I scooped it all up, and hid it. "where's my money?!" She bellows, when she goes to play with it again, hours later... "the tooth fairy took it"...."but it's old money!"...."She took it back in time to give to poor children in the past"..."aww, that's nice"... fewee!

I've got all the software...

I've got all the software, I think... I just need to learn how to use it!
The Lovely Fiona Soe Paing came round today, as I said I could help her burn a DVD for her performance in Glasgow on Tuesday... I'm sure I've done it before...it's been a while... SO! I open my CS4 suite, and it strikes me that I've owned this software for nearly 2 years now, and I've hardly used any of it... and when I do open the programmes I think I need to use, it's like an alien world! nothing like the previous versions I once used.

anyway, after a quick search on the good old internet, I find that the program to use, is Encore... and it's in the CS4 suite I bought! Huzah! it only takes 30 mins to burn a 15 min QT to DVD... sorry Fiona!

Oooh, that's a scary...

Oooh, that's a scary bridge to cross!
Bit of a metaphor today... We've been in Elgin, visiting my Gran ("supergran" for Poppy) - she's sadly fallen and bust her hip. We then visited Lossie, and went to the east beach with Poppy, she loves the beach... it's a crisp, cold but oh so bright and clear day, surfers surfing, walkers walking, lovely... we pick up sticks, we find treasure (and bury it again)... to get to this spot, takes a difficult journey...

They can't really...

They can't really mess it up... can they?
Intrepidation, pre-godflesh gig in the Arches, Glasgow with Sinky & McAulay... we're all thinking "we can't be disappointed by this, can we?" "there's no drum kit on stage..." sinky points out... and finally, just Benny & Justin appear... looks like it's going to be "the classics". and oh yes, we were not disappointed in the slightest! Opening tune? Rats! AMAZING. Christbait next AMAZING. Streetcleaner AMAZING. Avalanche master song (if i remember)... veins ? pure... oh, it all becomes a blur, but what a fantastic set - old school, simple, clear and loud... just bloody fantastic. Big thanks to McAulay for coming with me! I hope his hearing recovers.

Are you really going to see a band tomorrow?..

Are you really going to see a band tomorrow? Can I come with you?
yes indeed! we (Mark McAulay and I) are going to see GODFLESH tomorrow in Glasgow, first time for me (I've only waited 19 years for the privilege! (thanks to Andy Hamilton giving me a shot of streetcleaner all those years ago!)) I wonder if he will be there... and would I recognise him?! anyway, Poppy... no, it's too far away, you'd be asleep by the time we'd got to Glasgow... mind you, "veins" might wake you up....

And the best bit about playing a didgeridoo...

And the best bit about playing a didgeridoo is you can blow a raspberry on your arm forever!
The local primary school asked my to play my Didge for a P6 class doing a project on Australia... "no wuckin forries" I slurred... (in my head...OK OK). I trooped in carrying the two didges I have, inquisitive kids thinking "What are they?!"... I met Ms Calder, whom introduced me to the class... and after some quick hellos and G'day's (why?!)... we headed to the music room... some "introductory sort of Australian history" was touched upon, the good old "lets make a drone last for ages" kicked in... eyes agog as the drone fills the air... "how can he do it for so long?"... everyone has a shot, and my goodness, everyone managed to make the low drone noise on the mid-sized didge. fantastic. There's a box of beaters / sticks... and we get some Rolf "sun-a-rise" action on the go... kids have a built in metronome at around 160bpm... not quite the pace of shamanistic mantra, granted.. but good fun. Big thanks to Kellands school

NO Way! I'm talking to...

NO Way! I'm talking to Philly Cool!
Apologies for the apparent "big headedness" here... but Gabi insisted I have this as my quote for today. We opened at the Wyness hall tonight, for our NEOS show. Lo and Behold, someone who went to my old School turned up.. she was in first year, when I was in 5th (ergo, I've no idea who she is)... but, she certainly remembers me! It works out that this geek, who thought he was invisible during school, seemed to register on some people's radar... ho ho... I didn't even know.
